Special gratitude to our singing angel at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. The family would like to thank all staff at the Valley Regional and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospitals for their care and support. Hughie was a loving husband, proud dad and grandfather, caring brother, and friend to many. His genuine kindness and witty humour will be tremendously missed. He proudly supported and enjoyed all his family’s sports.

He was a devoted fan of the Oilers and the Blue Jays. Hughie was involved in numerous sports as a player and coach. John’s United Church, Middleton, involved in numerous committees and volunteered at the 12 Baskets Food Bank, Nictaux. Hughie worked at Sobeys in Stellarton and TRA in Middleton for more than 37 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Rosalind MacLeod, brothers-in-law Bob Jordan, Bob Cameron nephew Donald Cameron father and mother-in-law Arnold and Joyce Gordon brothers-in-law Arnold “Ginner” and Kenny Gordon sister-in-law Linda Leadbeater. Hughie is also survived by his sisters Phyllis Jordan, June Cameron, Norma (Gordie) MacDonald, Lois (Russell) Hendsbee, Aileen (Wilbert) Sutherland, Donna (David) Avery brother and sisters-in-law Donnie (Kim) Gordon, Shane Leadbeater, Rebecca (Laurie) Lightfoot, Esther (Rocco) Difabio, Bonnie (Wayne) Curtis, Brenda Pryor and Suzanne Gordon as well a wonderful abundance of nieces and nephews. Hughie will be dearly missed by his wife of 44 years Cindy (Gordon), daughter Janice (Bonnie) MacLeod, son Daniel (Tracy) MacLeod, beautiful granddaughter Cassidy and numerous grand fur-babies.
